Vive \Vive\ (v[=e]v). [F., imperative sing. pres. fr. vivre to
   live, L. vivere.]
   Long live, that is, success to; as, vive le roi, long live
   the king; vive la bagatelle, success to trifles or sport.

Vive \Vive\ (v[imac]v), a. [L. vivus: cf. F. vif. See {Vivid}.]
   Lively; animated; forcible. [Obs.] --Bacon.
