Acrogen \Ac"ro*gen\, n. [Gr. ? extreme, high + -gen.] Acrogen
\Ac"ro*gen\, n. [Gr. 'a`kros extreme, high + -gen.] (Bot.)
   A plant of the highest class of cryptogams, including the
   ferns, etc. See {Cryptogamia}.

      carboniferous era.
