   pr. & vb. n. {Appertaining}.] [OE. apperteinen, apertenen,
   OF. apartenir, F. appartenir, fr. L. appertinere; ad +
   pertinere to reach to, belong. See {Pertain}.]
   To belong or pertain, whether by right, nature, appointment,
   or custom; to relate.
