   A name given to several species of fishes:
   (a) The Malthe vespertilio of the Atlantic coast.
   (b) The flying gurnard of the Atlantic ({Cephalacanthus
       spinarella}).
   (c) The California batfish or sting ray ({Myliobatis
       Californicus}.)
