Cantabile \Can*ta"bi*le\, a. [It., cantare to sing.] (Mus.)
   In a melodious, flowing style; in a singing style, as opposed
   to bravura, recitativo, or parlando.

   A piece or passage, whether vocal or instrumental, peculiarly
   adapted to singing; -- sometimes called {cantilena}.
