Caracal \Car"a*cal\, n. [F. caracal, fr. Turk garahgootag; garah
   black + goofag ear.] (Zo["o]l.)
   A lynx ({Felis, or Lynx, caracal.)} It is a native of Africa
   and Asia. Its ears are black externally, and tipped with long
   black hairs.
