Cleanse \Cleanse\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Cleansed}; p. pr. & vb.
   n. {Cleansing}.] [AS. cl[=ae]nsian, fr. cl[=ae]ne clean. See
   {Clean}.]
   To render clean; to free from fith, pollution, infection,
   guilt, etc.; to clean.
