Cutwork \Cut"work`\ (k[u^]t"w[^u]rk`), n. (Fine Arts)
   An ancient term for embroidery, esp. applied to the earliest
   form of lace, or to that early embroidery on linen and the
   like, from which the manufacture of lace was developed.
