Digitate \Dig"i*tate\, v. t. [LL. digitatus, p. p. of digitare,
   fr. L. digitus. See {Digit}.]
   To point out as with the finger. [R.] --Robinson (Eudoxa).

Digitate \Dig"i*tate\, Digitated \Dig"i*ta`ted\, a. [L.
   digitatus having fingers.] (Bot.)
   Having several leaflets arranged, like the fingers of the
   hand, at the extremity of a stem or petiole. Also, in
   general, characterized by digitation. -- {Dig"i*tate*ly},
   adv.
