   fr. combining form electro- + Gr. ? to bear.] (Physics)
   An instrument for exciting electricity, and repeating the
   charge indefinitely by induction, consisting of a flat cake
   of resin, shelllac, or ebonite, upon which is placed a plate
   of metal.
