Epanodos \E*pan"o*dos\, n. [L., fr. Gr. ? a rising, return;
   'epi` + ? a way up, rising; ? up + ? way.] (Rhet.)
   A figure of speech in which the parts of a sentence or clause
   are repeated in inverse order, as in the following:

         O more exceeding love, or law more just? Just law,
         indeed, but more exceeding love!         --Milton.
