Flexuous \Flex"u*ous\, a. [L. flexuosus, fr. flexus a bending,
   turning.]
   1. Having turns, windings, or flexures.

   2. (Bot.) Having alternate curvatures in opposite directions;
      bent in a zigzag manner.

   3. Wavering; not steady; flickering. --Bacon.
