Haughty \Haugh"ty\, a. [Compar. {Haughtier}; superl.
   {Haughtiest}.] [OE. hautein, F. hautain, fr. haut high, OF.
   also halt, fr. L. altus. See {Altitude}.]
   1. High; lofty; bold. [Obs. or Archaic]
