Hydrocarbon \Hy`dro*car"bon\, n. [Hydro-, 2 + carbon.] (Chem.)
   A compound containing only hydrogen and carbon, as methane,
   benzene, etc.; also, by extension, any of their derivatives.

      or stove with which liquid fuel, as petroleum, is used.
