   fr. laedere, laesum, to hurt, injure.]
   A hurt; an injury. Specifically:
   (a) (Civil Law) Loss sustained from failure to fulfill a
       bargain or contract. --Burrill.
   (b) (Med.) Any morbid change in the exercise of functions or
       the texture of organs. --Dunglison.
