Loligo \Lo*li"go\, n. [L., cuttle fish.] (Zo["o]l.)
A genus of cephalopods, including numerous species of squids,
common on the coasts of America and Europe. They are much
used for fish bait.

sandy shores of tropical America, somewhat resembling
