Madwort \Mad"wort`\, n. (Bot.)
   A genus of cruciferous plants ({Alyssum}) with white or
   yellow flowers and rounded pods. {A. maritimum} is the
   commonly cultivated sweet alyssum, a fragrant white-flowered
   annual.
