Melamine \Me*lam"ine\, n. (Chem.)
A strong nitrogenous base, {C3H6N6}, produced from several
cyanogen compounds, and obtained as a white crystalline
substance, -- formerly supposed to be produced by the
decomposition of melam. Called also {cyanuramide}.
