Mongrel \Mon"grel\, n. [Prob. shortened fr. mongrel, and akin to
   AS. mengan to mix, and E. mingle. See {Mingle}.]
   The progeny resulting from a cross between two breeds, as of
   domestic animals; anything of mixed breed. --Drayton.
