Nidus \Ni"dus\, n.; pl. {nidi}. [L. See {Nidi}, {Nest}.]
   A nest: a repository for the eggs of birds, insects, etc.; a
   breeding place; esp., the place or substance where parasites
   or the germs of a disease effect lodgment or are developed.
