Nopal \No"pal\, n. [Mexican nopalli.] (Bot.)
   A cactaceous plant ({Nopalea cochinellifera}), originally
   Mexican, on which the cochineal insect feeds, and from which
   it is collected. The name is sometimes given to other species
   of {Cactace[ae]}.
