Ordnance \Ord"nance\, n. [From OE. ordenance, referring orig. to
   the bore or size of the cannon. See {Ordinance}.]
   Heavy weapons of warfare; cannon, or great guns, mortars, and
   howitzers; artillery; sometimes, a general term for all
   weapons and appliances used in war.
