Oviparous \O*vip"a*rous\, a. [L. oviparus; ovum egg + parere to
   bring forth: cf. F. ovipare.] (Physiol.)
   Producing young from rggs; as, an oviparous animal, in which
   the egg is generally separated from the animal, and hatched
   after exclusion; -- opposed to {viviparous}.
