Paternity \Pa*ter"ni*ty\, n. [L. paternitas: cf. F.
   paternit['e]. See {Paternal}.]
   1. The relation of a father to his child; fathership;
      fatherhood; family headship; as, the divine paternity.

            underwent no other dominion than paternity and
