Plain Old Documentation
     
         (pod, occasionally "POD") A simple {markup language}
        used to embed {documentation}, {literate programming}-style,
        in {Perl} programs.  Pod readers and converters are part of
        the standard Perl distribution and the documentation provided
        with Perl is all in pod format.
