Pommel \Pom"mel\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Pommeled}or {Pommelled};
   p. pr. & vb. n. {Pommeling} or {Pommelling}.]
   To beat soundly, as with the pommel of a sword, or with
   something knoblike; hence, to beat with the fists. [Written
   also {pummel}.]
