Puerile \Pu"er*ile\, a. [L. puerilis, fr. puer a child, a boy:
   cf. F. pu['e]ril.]
   Boyish; childish; trifling; silly.

         The French have been notorious through generations for
         their puerile affectation of Roman forms, models, and
