Saline \Sal"ine\, n.
   1. (Chem.) A crude potash obtained from beet-root residues
      and other similar sources. [Written also {salin}.]

   2. (Med. Chem.) A metallic salt; esp., a salt of potassium,
      sodium, lithium, or magnesium, used in medicine.
