   Dan. tak, Sw. tack, Goth. [thorn]agks thanks; -- originally,
   a thought, a thinking. See {Think}.]
   A expression of gratitude; an acknowledgment expressive of a
   sense of favor or kindness received; obligation, claim, or
   desert, or gratitude; -- now generally used in the plural.
