Thorite \Tho"rite\, n. [So called by Berzelius from the
   Scandinavian god Thor. See {Thor}.] (Min.)
   A mineral of a brown to black color, or, as in the variety
   orangite, orange-yellow. It is essentially a silicate of
   thorium.
