Velvetleaf \Vel"vet*leaf`\, n. (Bot.)
   A name given to several plants which have soft, velvety
   leaves, as the {Abutilon Avicenn[ae]}, the {Cissampelos
   Pareira}, and the {Lavatera arborea}, and even the common
   mullein.
