Verisimilitude \Ver`i*si*mil"i*tude\, n. [L. verisimilitudo: cf.
   OF. verisimilitude. See {Verisimilar}.]
   The quality or state of being verisimilar; the appearance of
   truth; probability; likelihood.

         Verisimilitude and opinion are an easy purchase; but
         true knowledge is dear and difficult.    --Glanvill.
