Gibbous \Gib"bous\, a. [Cf. F. gibbeux. See {Gibbose}.]
   1. Swelling by a regular curve or surface; protuberant;
      convex; as, the moon is gibbous between the half-moon and
      the full moon.

            The bones will rise, and make a gibbous member.
