Selenic \Se*len"ic\, a. [Cf. F. s['e]l['e]nique.] (Chem.)
   Of or pertaining to selenium; derived from, or containing,
   selenium; specifically, designating those compounds in which
   the element has a higher valence as contrasted with selenious
   compounds.
