Shelve \Shelve\, v. i. [imp. & p. p. {Shelved}; p. pr. & vb. n.
   {Shelving}.] [Perhapss originally from the same source as
   shallow, but influenced by shelf a ledge, a platform.]
   To incline gradually; to be slopping; as, the bottom shelves
   from the shore.
