   vb. n. {Sweltering}.] [From {Swelt}, v. i.]
   1. To be overcome and faint with heat; to be ready to perish
      with heat. ``Sweltered cattle.'' --Coleridge.

   2. To welter; to soak. [Obs.] --Drayton.
