Betwixt \Be*twixt"\, prep. [OE. betwix, bitwix, rarely bitwixt,
   AS. betweox, betweohs, betweoh, betw[=i]h; pref. be- by + a
   form fr. AS. tw[=a] two. See {Between}.]
   1. In the space which separates; between.

            From betwixt two aged oaks.           --Milton.
