Bewail \Be*wail"\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Bewailed}; p. pr. & vb.
   n. {Bewailing}.]
   To express deep sorrow for, as by wailing; to lament; to wail
   over.

         Hath widowed and unchilded many a one, Which to this
         hour bewail the injury.                  --Shak.
