Bourgeois \Bour*geois"\, n. [From a French type founder named
   Bourgeois, or fr. F. bourgeois of the middle class; hence
   applied to an intermediate size of type between brevier and
   long primer: cf. G. bourgeois, borgis. Cf. {Burgess}.]
