Bourgeon \Bour"geon\, v. i. [OE. burjoun a bud, burjounen to
   bud, F. bourgeon a bud, bourgeonner to bud; cf. OHG. burjan
   to raise.]
   To sprout; to put forth buds; to shoot forth, as a branch.
