   1. The quality of being unusual or novel. [Obs.] --Spenser.

   2. The quality of being insolent; pride or haughtiness
      manifested in contemptuous and overbearing treatment of
      others; arrogant contempt; brutal impudence.

   3. Insolent conduct or treatment; insult.
