1. (Min.) Realgar; red sulphide of arsenic. [Archaic]
2. (Bot. Chem.) A white or yellow resin obtained from a
Barbary tree ({Callitris quadrivalvis} or {Thuya
articulata}), and pulverized for pounce; -- probably so
called from a resemblance to the mineral.
