Seigniory \Seign"ior*y\, n.; pl. {-ies}. [OE. seignorie, OF.
   seigneurie, F. seigneurie; cf. It. signoria.]
   1. The power or authority of a lord; dominion.

            what by encroachment he got upon the English.
