Shoebill \Shoe"bill`\, n. (Zo["o]l.)
   A large African wading bird ({Bal[ae]niceps rex}) allied to
   the storks and herons, and remarkable for its enormous broad
   swollen bill. It inhabits the valley of the White Nile. See
