Somnolent \Som"no*lent\, a. [F. somnolent, L. somnolentus, from
   somnus sleep, akin to Gr. ?, Skr. svapna sleep, dream, svap
   to sleep, Icel. sofa, AS. swefn sleep. Cf. {Hypnotic},
   {Somnambulism}, {Soporific}.]
   Sleepy; drowsy; inclined to sleep. -- {Som"no*lent*ly}, adv.
