Submersion \Sub*mer"sion\, n. [L. submersio: cf. F. submersion.]
   1. The act of submerging, or putting under water or other
      fluid, or of causing to be overflowed; the act of plunging
      under water, or of drowning.

      being overflowed or drowned.
