   supercilium an eyebrow, pride; super over, + cilium an
   eyelid; probably akin to celare to conceal. Cf. {Conceal}.]
   Lofty with pride; haughty; dictatorial; overbearing;
   arrogant; as, a supercilious officer; asupercilious air;
