Elucidate \E*lu"ci*date\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Elucidated}; p.
   pr. & vb. n. {Elucidating}.] [LL. elucidatus, p. p. of
   elucidare; e + lucidus full of light, clear. See {Lucid}.]
   To make clear or manifest; to render more intelligible; to
   illustrate; as, an example will elucidate the subject.
