Interscendent \In`ter*scend"ent\, a. [See {Inter-}, and
   {Ascend}.] (Math.)
   Having exponents which are radical quantities; -- said of
   certain powers; as, x^{[root]2}, or x^{[root]a}.

   {Interscedent series}, a series whose terms are interscendent
      quantities. --Hutton.
