Pyruvic \Py*ru"vic\, a. [Pyro- + L. uva a grape.] (Chem.)
   Pertaining to, or designating, an acid (called also
   pyroracemic acid) obtained, as a liquid having a pungent
   odor, by the distillation of racemic acid.
